LABTECH NOTEBOOK software turns your PC into a powerful data acquisition and control system. Running on both PC compatible computers, it will fully complement your data acquisition system, utilizing all its advanced features while insulating the user from the low-level instructions the acquisition system hardware requires. NOTEBOOK's Universal  Driver supports over 1000 popular data acquisition boards and boxes to directly connect your PC to a variety of instruments and sensors. NOTEBOOK is truly a complete solutions  package, setting up hardware parameters, displaying data as it is collected, and logging data to disk. Acquired data can be directly processed with any analysis software, including Microsoft Excel. Collected data may be processed in real-time through an extensive list of mathematical functions, displayed to the screen, and logged to disk in a format directly compatible with most spreadsheet programs.

BUILDTIME is a graphical user interface (GUI) for LABTECH Notebook. BUILDTIME lets you create data acquisition and control setups by moving and connecting icons. Users can easily view, configure and manipulate even the largest setups with just a few mouse clicks. Depending on your needs, you can design a setup from within the LABTECH menus  or use BUILDTIME. BUILDTIME presents all LABTECH setup functions (Channels, Windows, Traces and Files) in one place: the BUILDTIME drawing board. From here,  users can structure an application graphically, by using the icons as building blocks and connecting them to show the relationships and data flow between LABTECH functions. With BUILDTIME, each icon in the setup has its own menu page that lets you configure setup options such as sampling rate, number of stages, stage durations, and triggering method. An icon's menu page can be modified from within BUILDTIME or through the menu system.

Notebook's front-end user interface, Realtime Vision, gives you all the tools you need to  quickly create a customized display that is ideal for your application. Trend charts, meters and bar charts display data in real time. Knobs, switches and sliders add real-time control and adjustments. Vision's drawing and animation features give your display a 'true-to-life' depiction of your application.

NOTEBOOKpro is an enhanced edition of the standard Notebook. While LABTECH  Notebook supports only one display screen, NOTEBOOKpro supports up to five different display screens. It also includes support for IEEE-488 and RS-232 communications, a  C-icon development kit for creating custom features, and an I/O driver toolkit for writing custom data acquisition drivers. NOTEBOOKpro also includes high speed DMA support,  client/server network DDE, PID, ramp and soak and cascade control capability. NOTEBOOKpro allows users to serve data over local area networks(LAN) or the internet for remote viewing of the data. NOTEBOOKpro also allows users to import bitmaps, have background picture bitmaps, and provides for multiple kinds of animations per object.

Datalogging and Storage
 As data is collected, values, tag names, and alarm conditions may be time-stamped and stored directly to disk, allowing you to save results from an almost unlimited number of process runs. Data can be written to disk either continuously or in response to event/alarm trigger or operator commands. Pretriggering allows you to set the system so that when an event or alarm occurs, data just prior to the occurrence will also be displayed and logged. NOTEBOOK stores data in standard file formats compatible with analysis, database and word processing programs. NOTEBOOK handles data logs intelligently.

System Expandability
NOTEBOOKpro allows for customization by the addition of C, C++, and Visual Basic programs and linking them into the system. This customization supports the creation of unique icons and allows for input from any other block. Output may be displayed, written to  disk, and used as input to other blocks. This customization may also be initiated on a periodic or event-driven basis. LABTECH also offers a fully documented Driver Toolkit for interfacing unique devices.
