Version 10.1 Enhancements:
High-Resolution Thermocouple- For temperature-based applications, Version 10.1 provides high accuracy thermocouple measurements via digital filtering. This much sought-after feature allows users of inexpensive data acquisition systems to filter out unwanted noise without having to resort to the expense of extremely high-accuracy instrumentation. We are typically seeing an improvement in temperature precision from ± 2 degrees C to ± 0.1 degrees C with the use of this new feature. See this remarkable difference here. The new high-resolution thermocouple support also provides the user with the ability to use a Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) channel of his choosing. This allows the user the ability to use a channel physically close to his thermocouple channel for CJC. In a situation where a LABTECH user has several multiplexers spread across a distance, this new method will provide for a much more accurate temperature measuring system. This flexibility provides the user with yet another tool to customize his system to any extent desired. Automatic Fast Pentium Support - In Version 10.1, the LABTECH software now automatically uses new Pentium instructions and registers to achieve microsecond resolution, precision time delays with Pentium and Pentium II machines. This automatic calibration eliminates the need for users to perform any modification of the Delay_Params in the LTN.CNF or of the DelayMultiplier in the LABTECH.INI. This new automatic fast Pentium support typically results in delays that are 10 times more accurate than previously possible. This precision calibration has the benefit of providing the user with both the highest data acquisition rate and accuracy in their systems. Year 2000 Compliance- We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that Version 10.1 is Year 2000 compliant (as defined by the British Standards Institute). This means that users of any of our products will not experience any issues related to the clock change at the transition of the year 1999 to 2000. More VISION screens- Version 10.02 had a limitation of only about three concurrent VISION screens. This has now been lifted to five or more, depending on resource utilization. Improved Hardware Installation- Selections are now alphabetically sorted, so it's much easier to find devices. The selections are easier to read, and several inconsistencies in specifying addressing are fixed. Users will be more likely to get their hardware installed correctly the first time. Revised Hardware Interface Guides- Version 10.1 contains thoroughly revised Hardware Interface Guides. These revised guides provide the latest information on how to interface data acquisition hardware to the LABTECH software. This new information will make the construction of data acquisition systems with the LABTECH software faster and easier than ever before. PCI Bus Support- Version 10.1 contains new drivers for PCI data acquisition cards from ComputerBoards, OMEGA Engineering, CYBER Research, and others. These new PCI cards bring true Plug and Play capability to the data acquisition arena making plug-in board installation troubleshooting a thing of the past. These new drivers will save you time and money during the creation of new systems. |
